How Jotto is reshaping live stream engagement
Turning fans into participants for the Michigan Pickleball League
The Michigan Pickleball League (MPL) launched in March 2025 with a challenge: “How can we build an audience and community from scratch?”
Instead of using the basic one-way live stream, the MPL partnered with Jotto to do something no other league is doing: Their live streams are turning spectators into participants by inviting them to join the action through candid, real-time feedback.
How it works:
🎾 MPL commentators use on-screen questions and QR codes to gather fan feedback.
🎾 Fans (both courtside and at home) are encouraged to scan the QR code and answer the on-screen prompt via video, voice, or text.
🎾 Fans hit “submit,” and commentators display their responses on screen in real time!
The result? Fans aren’t simply watching the game; they’re part of the action. The MPL is using Jotto to build community, amplify fan voices, and turn what could be a passive stream into something interactive, fun, and human.
Michigan Pickleball is just one example of how Jotto is helping brands, creators, and communities move past standard (and tedious) form-based surveys and toward authentic, real-time engagement.
